Aligning Full Potential
Many amateur and professional athletes use Chiropractic care as part of their overall health care, fitness and maintenance program. Chiropractic is often used to improve muscle and joint conditioning, which has a direct effect on an athletic performance. Adjustments works to improve biomechanical function and enhance overall conditioning, important in situations where there is continuous repetitive movement. Chiropractic care also helps athletes fine-tune their muscles and joints for high-level performance, and may reduce long-term wear and tear. Finally, Chiropractic can be used to prevent, and shorten the healing time of injuries.

Athletes most often select Chiropractic to improve their performance. In all cases a treatment plan will be developed according to the goals and condition of each patient. In the case of professional and elite athletes, Chiropractors often work in conjunction with other health care professionals, including medical doctors and/or sports medicine doctors, massage therapists and physiotherapists.

My initial appointment was in the middle of August based on the referral of a friend. I was having significant low back and neck pain that was progressively getting worse and this pain was inhibiting my ability to golf. As a Professional Golfer who makes his living from golf, this was a serious problem. I was impressed with Chiropractic’s approach and initial exam and within one visit I noticed an improved range of motion and a decrease in pain. I continued to get adjusted during the remainder of my golf season and I noticed continued improvement. The pain decreased and my range of motion and performance improved throughout the rest of my season. The Chiropractor is very attentive and thorough. I have never been to another doctor who took so much care with me and I loved the fact that she explained my problems and how they were going to be fixed. She explained the process and how the body takes time to heal, but the results have been wonderful. The exercises she gave me to help improve my range of motion and strength were extremely helpful. I look forward to continuing care once I return from touring in South Africa and Europe for the winter.

As a young, elite baseball player, I was oblivious to the effects on how such a simple concept could affect and change my life. I was introduced to the art of Chiropractic through Dr. Michelle Campbell. I played baseball at a very high level for many years, and through the years, the grind and continuous stress on my joints lead to accumulation of cartilage in areas where it wasn’t supposed to occur. I was in constant pain, and I didn’t like the idea of drugs and surgery. Dr. Campbell was our team trainer at the time, and she suggested some options to improve my condition. At first I had my doubts. I didn’t really believe in what someone could do with his or her hands to help my problem. From my initial visit with Dr. Campbell, my range of motion increased dramatically. I could feel an increased blood flow to the area of stiffness, and a reduction of pain. After that experience, I have learned so much more about what Chiropractic can do for me. I have incorporated a Chiropractor in my corner throughout my playing days and beyond to aid me in checking my spine for misalignments, to increase range of motion, and to allow me to function optimally and be at my best. The game of baseball is about inches, and without the care Dr. Campbell provided me with, I wouldn’t be able to play and reach the level of success I have attained today. Chiropractic has changed my lifestyle, and has also allowed my body to recover faster than it normally would. I recommend Dr. Michelle Campbell’s care to anyone and especially athletes!
