Aligning Full Potential

During pregnancy, most women respond favourably to gentle, safe, noninvasive chiropractic care. Chiropractic adjustments help your body to feel more at ease. Special pregnancy pillows are used to accommodate your growing belly.

Dr. Campbell has completed over 200+ additional hours in the care of pregnant women and children. She is certified in Webster technique and is a member of the International Chiropractic Paediatric Association (ICPA). Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis that is used during pregnancy to help the baby to be in the best possible position for birth. This technique helps to reduce tense muscles and ligaments in the pelvic region that can cause restriction.

According to recent studies, women receiving Chiropractic care:

  • have less pain during pregnancy and be more comfortable during the third trimester and delivery.
  • have a reduced need for analgesics (pain medication) and report relief of back pain during pregnancy with chiropractic care.
  • have a significantly less likelihood of back labour (contractions and sharp pain felt in the lower back during labour).
  • have become more comfortable breastfeeding (posture-wise).
  • post partum, helps the women’s body deal with the added stresses that occur as they care for their baby.

Pregnancy

I was referred when I was 31 weeks pregnant and learned that my baby was in a breech position. I have benefited greatly from chiropractic care for many years, and I had read about the Webster technique for treating this condition. I was seeking an expert in this technique, as I hoped to avoid a cesarean section if my baby didn’t turn over. I was excited when, after only 3 adjustments, my midwife believed that the baby had turned to the head down position! An ultrasound a few weeks later confirmed that my little guy was no longer in a breech position, which I attribute to Chiropractic treatment. Not only was she more than competent, her bright and caring demeanor was reassuring to a nervous first time mom anxious to have a healthy pregnancy and natural birth. She continued to treat me throughout my pregnancy and kept me feeling well and active the entire time. I had a lovely home water birth, with manageable pain without any medication. I attribute some of this success to having regular chiropractic care during my pregnancy to ensure good alignment of my spine and pelvis for labour. Thank you Chiropractic, for helping my family and I have the birth we dreamed about.

I was referred by my RMT. I was 5 months pregnant, with severe hip and groin pain that was worsening with the extra weight. Chiropractors have special belly pillows to help with comfort while adjusting a pregnant woman. She was very knowledgable in pregnancy adjustments and is just completing more education in this specific area. I found Chiropractors to be very patient and explained every treatment thoroughly before performing them, so as to make me as comfortable as possible. Each treatment I have received so far has improved my discomfort, and in just 3 short weeks, I am already back to the way I felt pre-pregnancy, which is amazing! I will continue my treatments in order to stay I tip top physical shape for the duration of my pregnancy

I always thought that Chiropractic was only for people in chronic pain. I was not aware of how many other benefits there are of Chiropractic care and how many other conditions Chiropractic can help. I started seeing a Chiropractor when I learned that my baby was breech and I was at a higher risk for the baby to stay breach due to a specific physical condition. I was recommended to try Chiropractic to help encourage my baby to get into the proper birthing position. Although my initial reason for starting Chiropractic was not my high blood pressure, after 4 weeks of treatments and some lifestyle changes my blood pressure went from 158/88 to 122/80 without medication. After seeing the Chiropractor for 10 treatments and adjustments, my baby is no longer breech and is in the proper position. My body is feeling better and healthier and I am so happy. Chiropractic is for so much more than chronic pain.

All pregnant women should utilize Chiropractic! The Chiropractor assisted me with lower back pain which made a huge difference in my overall comfort and making more room for the baby to move in my last months of pregnancy. You can trust this office with your little bundle of joy due to her expertise and wealth of knowledge. I did and I had my daughter checked days after her birth. You will notice a difference!

I broke my back severely and had to have spinal surgery in result. I was about 6 months into a high risk pregnancy when my joints and back started to act up and eventually my hips completely gave out. When I first saw the Chiropractor, I was very concerned that her care would be harmful to the baby or me. I was on crutches and couldn’t walk I was literally in tears when I first arrived. Dr Michelle took the time to sit down and explain everything that she was doing making me feel completely comfortable. After my first adjustment, I felt absolutely relieved after my second and third (same week) and I was walking without crutches, I was amazed since the Drs at the hospital told me I’d just have to deal with this the rest of my pregnancy. Of course I continued to go and continued to feel amazing and better than I did before my pregnancy, all the way up to my perfect birth story. Short active labour and very little work, my baby was born vaginally with no tearing or complications (something doctors had told me may not be able to happen given my back history). My recovery was amazing and I felt great. Dr Michelle then saw my newborn daughter and corrected some issues she was having with her jaw and neck which in return helped and abundance with nursing and relaxing her to sleep My family and I will continue to see dr Michelle as long as she is practicing.
